Based on the novel by Scott O'Dell This is the film version that had only a limited released in 1964 by Universal Studios that starred Celia Kaye as Karana. This is a wonderful screenplay adaptation by Jane Klove and Ted Sherdernan of O'Dell's novel. Directed by James Clark the story depicts the story of Karana in her native land dealing with struggles and dangers. This is a fascinating story with superb acting and direction. O'Dell's story comes shining through in this film adaption of his novel.
