Richard Benjamin's film debut is a stunner as he plays Neil, a poor librarian from the Bronx. His co-star Ali MacGraw plays Brenda who is from a well to do Jewish family with strict fraternization rules. With a fabulous script and great direction this movie takes off and delivers on all fronts. The unlikely pair form a wonderful duo that mix together both drama and comedy for a high degree of audience satisfaction. Both Benjamin and MacGraw give wonderful performances in this odd love story. A very poignant and funny film. Full of odd comedic situations. This is a true classic and one that definitely belongs in your collection.
